gnome-settings-daemon-dev software package provides Headers for building applications communicating with gnome-settings-daemon, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-settings-daemon-dev
gnome-settings-daemon-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-settings-daemon-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-settings-daemon-dev *
